This silk scarf design comes from one of my close-up photographs of the tree bark of the Liquidambar styraciflua. I’ve always loved the different textures of tree bark and how the wonderful patterns twist and swirl. It is as if the patterns take on the appearance of human faces.

This design is the one that started my series of tree bark faces.

The story behind the name “Angry Panda” comes from Sarah seeing an angry panda bear in the scarf. If you look carefully at the diagonal corner, maybe you can see it too.
